What's New to Support All Students?  Check it out...

 What is RtI(3TM)?

RtI (Response to Intervention)  is an innovative school change model that has its roots in both the U.S. Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE) and the U.S. Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP).

Illinois State regulations, established in July  of 2007, require all districts in Illinois to adhere to this model by the fall of the 2010-2011 school year.

DeKalb Community Unit School District #428 has been working on these innovations for several years and refers to the process as "3TM" (3 Tier Model).

 Our Beliefs

ALL students can learn when provided with the appropriate environment.

Data is needed to support on going decision making.

It is necessary to monitor the progress of all students to ensure that the instructional program remains highly effective.

Early intervention and prevention is important in providing students with the appropriate learning environment.

Student programs are delivered flexibly so that if performance data indicates less than desirable progress changes can be made.

Only instructional practices and assessments that have been proven through research to work are used.
