District Committees Related to Finance and Facilities
District 428 relies upon the collaborative work of several committees to assist in the decision-making process of the Board of Education and district administrators. The committee members are all volunteer appointees.
Citizens Financial Advisory Committee (CFAC) - This group of community citizens volunteer to meet monthly to assess and evaluate district financials and current conditions as they affect financial decision-making. Meetings are the second Thursday of the month (4:00 p.m.) at the Education Service Center, 901 S. 4th St., DeKalb.
Facilities Planning Committee (FPC) - Meeting at least monthly (or more often, when necessary), the Facilities Planning Committee helps evaluate the facilities needs of the district. This group prepared the Ten Year Master Facility Plan (2007-2017) that was approved by the Board of Education in the spring of 2007. Meetings are held when needed at various locations.
