The Guidance and Counseling Department at Clinton Rosette assists our middle school students to become academically excellent and socially equitable and responsible. We provide services to enhance student growth in a developmentally responsive manner. The Counselors serve as advocates for students and parents.
Guidance and Counseling work with students at Rosette can be best described as the services available to each student to facilitate their academic and social success in school; to help them better understand their strengths and responsibilities as well as to help them set behavioral or academic goals. The emphasis is on seeing the whole child although many of our interventions come by way of small group work. Guidance services are preventive and developmental rather than rehabilitative or therapeutic. Any student who needs more than a couple of individual appointments or the duration of a small group are referred to outside agencies for further assistance. Guidance Counselors are not therapists and do not do weekly therapy sessions, but we are available for student's concerns and needs to make it through the rough spots in their lives.
