TI-NSpire online purchase: Texas Instruments has updated the "clickpad" TI-NSpire calculator to the TI-Nspire "touchpad" calculator. If you are purchasing a new calculator, we are recommending the new TI-Nspire Touchpad calculator. Precalculus students will be issued a TI-Nspire (non-CAS) calculator. Calculus students will be issued a TI-Nspire (CAS) calculator. Advanced Algebra students will be issued a TI 84+ calculator, but may choose to purchase a TI-Nspire calculator. Algebra and Geometry students who do not purchase a TI-Nspire must have a scientific calculator for class. We recommend the TI-30XS Multiview scientific calculator.
Calculator Information - Why Calculators?
The TI-Nspire Touchpad calculator (non-CAS) can use both the TI-84+ and Nspire keypad, and it is allowed on ACT, SAT, PSAE, PSAT/NMSQT and AP exams. Precalculus students will be assigned a TI-Nspire, but you may choose to purchase your own. Precalculus students will use the Nspire keypad during class and for assessments. The CAS version of the Nspire is allowed on the AP exam, but not the other tests.
