This course is an historical survey of economic, intellectual, political, and social events that shaped the development of western civilization from pre-historical times through 19th century Imperialism.  Western Civilization I begins with the study of pre-history and concludes with the Renaissance.  Western Civilization II continues the historical saga of western civilization from the Enlightenment through the Russian Revolution.
