Curriculum News
*In reading this week we have a story called To Fly: The Story of the Wright Brothers. We will be discussing their invention and how it impacted the world. Our skill this week is making generalizations. Generalizations are special conclusions that apply to many examples that have something in common. We will mostly be practicing identifying faulty generalizations.
*In Math this week we will continue working on Unit 12 which is about rates. The students’ last math test will be on Friday, May 25.
*In writing we will continue to work with persuasive writing. We will learn to look at both sides of a debate before writing our own opinion.
*In Social Studies, the students are working with a partner to complete a state report on one of the states in the West.
Important Dates
*There is no school on Monday, May 28 for Memorial Day
*The Kane County Cougars game is on Tuesday, May 29. Our whole class did a wonderful job of reading!
*Friday, June 1 is Field Day.
*The last day of school is Thursday, June 7. School lasts from 9:00-12:00 and students will recieve their report cards that day.

*If you have not done so yet, please call the office to register your child for next year.
*As school is winding down, please check at home for books or other materials that belong to the school. These items may include library books, books from my classroom library, and textbooks.
